Acupuncture and herbs can be used for skin care. Acne and eczema are two types of skin care treatments we offer. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, asthma is associated with eczema, and both are treated. Skin care for acne is available to both women and men, and is based on the treatment of the entire constitution of an individual. Another skin care use of acupuncture is facial rejuvenation. We offer this series of treatments which tones the underlying muscle and tissue structures to give a firmer appearance. Acupuncture also causes the body to fill in creases with it’s own collagen.

We also offer massage. The forms used in this office are Tui Na, Shiatsu, deep tissue, Swedish, Thai table, and Gua Sha. Massage is often used as an integral part of an acupuncture treatment to help move Qi and stimulate the circulation of blood flow throughout the body.

Most common psychological problems and emotional issues that can be treated with drug therapy can also be treated effectively with Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture and herbs are highly effective as alternative medicine for depression, insomnia and migraine headaches. All three of these conditions usually present as a combination of emotional and physical factors. Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners believe that many diseases have emotional roots as their originating factor; treat the root cause, and the symptoms begin to fade.

Diabetes is a serious health issue in the United States. This condition results in foot and leg pathologies and also impedes weight loss — insulin actually encourages weight gain. Acupuncture treatments and herbal medicine can often reduce the amount of medications necessary to manage the blood sugar, which indirectly affects weight loss. When acupuncture is used as part of a complete diet plan, it can directly stimulate the metabolism resulting in faster weight loss.
